Continued Heightened Level of Preparedness
Based on this weather forecast guidance, Ameren Illinois will remain at a heightened level of preparedness - YELLOW Weather Alert Status - through today.
Weather guidance as of 7/21/10 early this morning: Afrontal boundary will continue to lie across central and southern Illinois today and will begin to make a push to the north late tonight. Showers and storms will redevelop this afternoon generally along and to the south of a line from Burlington, IA to Champaign, IL. Although the risk for severe storms will not be as great as it has been the past few days, a few severe storms are still possible over the southern portion of the state. The risk for storms will continue tonight and it will begin to shift northward with a chance for storms from Rockford to Champaign by daybreak tomorrow.
