Heightened State of Preparedness to be Storm Ready

Based on the recent weather forecast, Ameren Illinois will remain at a heightened state of preparedness - YELLOW Weather Alert Status - through the remainder of the day.

For the rest of today, a few strong or severe storms will be possible across far southern IL. The main threats will be isolated wind gusts to 55 mph, small hail and high amounts of lightning. Stormy weather likely later in the evening hours for all of Illinois.
