06/23/2010 - 8:04 - Ameren Illinois Returns to Normal Operations
Be Prepared, Possible Strong Storms May Re-develop
As of 8:04 Ameren Illinois is returning to normal operations and the emergency operations center is standing down.
At approximately 22:00 hours last evening, the number of customers out-of-service as a result of storm damage in the Beardstown area of Division II was reduced to less than 100; virtually all of the remaining customers were restored by 24:00. Effectively, the organization was returned to status level GREEN – Normal Operations at that time, although the Emergency Operations Center remained activated through the night as crews were released for rest or to return to their home operating area.
Unfortunately, a possibility exists that strong-to-severe storms may re-develop through the today and this evening before we see a respite from the challenging weather. The latest guidance we have received from our weather service provider is provided below in blue font along with 7 maps that provide graphical representations of the near-term conditions that may impact the Midwest.
