01/22/10 - 10:00 - Ameren Illinois' Restoration Winding Down
Significant Overnight and Early Morning Progress
10 a.m. - 1/22/2010 - Ameren Illinois Update
The Ameren Illinois Utilities made significant progress throughout the night and Friday morning by restoring service to our customers who were without power due to winter weather conditions which brought over a half inch of ice and high winds Wednesday to the northern and central portions of our territory and left more than 26,000 homes and businesses without power. This outage count was reduced to about 2,000 at 10 a.m. today. The weather conditions are expected to improve today with temperatures in the low to mid 30’s and winds in the 5-10 mph range. With these weather conditions, it is expected that the majority of the remaining customers out of service will be restored by 6 p.m. today.
Be Safe. Thanks.
