The Ameren Illinois Utilities experienced severe weather early 06/18/2009 in the central part of our territory which impacted service to at peak approximately 43,500 customers. The Company has made significant progress in restoring service today and as of about 5:00 pm approximately 27,630 customers have had service restored.
The storm primarily impacted service in the Galesburg and Peoria areas of our service territory. The Ameren Utilities expect to have all but about 10,000 customers restored to service late tonight with the majority of the remaining customers back in service by the end of the day tomorrow.
The Company continues to watch the weather conditions closely. The weather service is forecasting potential severe weather in our territory this evening and tomorrow.
