Hot & Humid for Customers and Workers

Co-workers and contractor allies continue to battle hot and humid conditions to restore power to those customers primarily in Knox and Peoria Counties. Significant work has been completed on transmission lines between Elmwood and Yates City (see photos at www.illinoisoutage.com). We still expect most customers to have their power restored by 9 p.m. tonight. In the last hour, severe weather hit Peoria County again. We will continue to monitor weather forecasts and prepare for potential damage. For safety’s sake, we urge customers to check on neighbors, relatives and friends who are still without power, especially the elderly and those with medical conditions. This is especially important with high temperatures expected to reach into the 90s.
