06/19/2009 - Cleanup begins after storms rip through central Illinois

ELMWOOD — Hometown Hardware’s inventory spilled onto the sidewalk Thursday morning in downtown Elmwood.
Dozens of boxes of chain saws, purchased first thing in the morning from a supplier in Peoria, were stacked along the storefront.
One glance across Magnolia Street and the need for saws and other tree-trimming supplies was obvious. Central Park’s large trees had crumbled amid high winds early Thursday, surrounding the gazebo with piles of large limbs and entire trees
