07/27/2012 - 09:30 - Quieter Weather Predicted
Return to Normal Operations
Weather conditions are forecasted to stabilize across Illinois through the weekend with only a slight possibility of some “garden-variety” isolated summertime thunderstorms possible today, quiet conditions across the state for at least the first part of the weekend, and temperatures forecasted to moderate with highs in the low to mid-90s into early next week.
Based on the prospect of quieter weather conditions for the near-term, we are standing down from a heightened state of preparedness and returning the organization to status GREEN – Normal Operations, effective at 09:30 on July 27, 2012.
Summertime weather patters include quickly forming, isolated thunderstorms which may erupt anywhere across our service territory, particularly in the afternoon as the atmosphere heats and becomes unstable.
