07/26/2012 - 08:30 - Possible Severe Weather Today
Temperatures are Moderating
There is a threat of severe weather today across virtually all of Illinois south of I-80; the threat increases as one would traverse the state from north-to-south and locations south of I-70 are considered to be in an “at-risk” zone for the potential development of a destructive squall line of severe thunderstorm activity later this afternoon and into the evening.
Temperatures are moderating below the extreme heat experienced the past days. Look for temps in the high 80-90's.
Operations at Yellow Alert:

As well, the Ameren Illinois organization is placed at YELLOW Weather Alert status at this time. The advisory activation and yellow weather alert status will remain in effect until conditions improve.
