Operation at ORANGE status and Ready
The Emergency Operations Center is Active
Over 1200 field personnel are ready for extended restoration efforts, alliance contractors have been alerted, safety personnel have been assigned and contact has been made with our mutual assistance network. Also, vegetation management personnel and contractors have been advised. Materials have been pre-staged with two storm trailers at the Belleville Operating Center and and second at the Mt. Vernon Operation Center.
Forecasted conditions have not improved from yesterday’s forecast. Based on this weather forecast guidance, the Ameren Illinois Emergency Operations Center reamins at ORANGE alert status for the organization.
We remain at a heightened state of readiness across the organization. Outages at this time remain minimal.
Weather Update
There is an area of central IL today that appears headed for the 0.50" to 1.00" of ice. It will be south mainly between I-70 and I-64. And in that area outlined, sleet will be a bit more prevalent for areas west of US 51, with the freezing rain more likely to the east. The window for the freezing rain will be from 8am through 4pm, with all areas changing over to snow by 4pm. Very strong winds will develop with this system, and gusts of 30-40 mph will develop this afternoon. Good luck today.
